This special program has been designed to provide a basic foundation of pension knowledge to those new to this field.  You will want to attend this program if:

  • You are looking for a better overall understanding of retirement plans
  • You work in a specific area or discipline related to qualified retirement plans and would like to broaden your knowledge
  • You work in the employee benefits area but do not really understand how it all fits together
  • You may be concerned that your plan is not being administered correctly

Our speakers will be:

Hitz Burton, JD                                                           Aon Hewitt Associates                                                    Mr. Burton is a senior legal consultant in Aon Hewitt’s Newport Beach office. Mr. Burton provides advice to clients regarding the design and administration of their qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. He also has extensive work experience as the lead consultant on more than a dozen compliance audits for qualified retirement

Douglas Van Galder, ERPA, QPA                           Strategic Pension Services, Inc.
Mr. Van Galder is the President and a Principal of Strategic Pension Services, Inc.  He has over thirty years of experience in the design, implementation, administration and compliance aspects of all types and sizes of Defined Contribution retirement plans. 

Stuart Hack, JD, CLU                                                    Sunlin Consulting
Mr. Hack is a Partner with Sunlin Consulting LLP and Vice President of Sunlin Consulting Investment Advisory Services LLC.  He advises qualified plan sponsors and record keepers on fiduciary liability exposure management.  He designs, implements and monitors fiduciary best-practices programs, including fully documented ERISA 404(a)(5), 404(c) and 408(b)(2) compliance solutions. 

Samantha Ter-Kasarian, CPA                                       HBLA Certified Public Accountants, Inc.

Audit Manager, Samantha has over eight years of experience in public accounting with HBLA. A native of Southern California, Samantha obtained her BA degree from California State University at San Diego. She is an audit manager and manages all ERISA audit assignments for HBLA clients.

This Seminar will be held in the offices of The Capital Group.  Check-in is open from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m.  Due to the special nature of this program, we cannot accept walk-ins the day of the event.
