A refund is provided for a meeting reservation that is cancelled on or before the reservation deadline for the event.  Cancellations after the reservation deadline are not refundable, but the fee paid is transferable to another attendee for the same event.

    Cyber-Security Threats To 

    Plan Participants and Individuals 

    Are Becoming More Pervasive

     The Presentation: 

    Bill Murdoch, FBI, will be presenting issues facing individuals: 

    • Identity theft and financial fraud schemes
    • What law enforcement is seeing out there
    • Ways to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud

    Doug Peterson, Great-West, will be presenting: Protecting participant data, and accounts is a constantly evolving challenge that every record keeper faces.  What should your record keeper be doing, what should you be doing, and what can participants do, to prevent costly information theft?

    ¨ Security best practices continue to change.

    ¨ Threats are becoming more pervasive, and breaches all too common.

    ¨ Protection requires a team, centered around the participant.

     Our Speakers: 

    Bill Murdoch is an FBI Supervisory Special Agent of a Complex Financial Crimes squad in Los Angeles, which includes cases involving Identity Theft matters. He has been with the FBI for 16 years, and has worked matters involving Health Care Fraud, Hispanic Gangs, and Counter Terrorism. Prior to the FBI, he was a California Highway Patrolman, an engineer in the private sector for more than 9 years, and he is still a commissioned officer in the Navy Reserve with 24 years of service and the rank of Commander.

    Doug Peterson Chief Information Security Officer, Great-West. Doug is responsible for the cyber security strategy, architecture development and global cyber security. He has enterprise-level responsibility for all cyber/data/information security policies, standards, evaluations, roles and awareness for all utilized technologies, services, vendors and partners. Doug is also responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing and execution. Doug has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry which includes Nationstar Mortgage, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. Doug is a certified business continuity planner from DRII, a Certified Information Security Systems Professional from ISC(2) and a GIAC Information Security Systems Professional.

    Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for check-in, breakfast and networking.  Our program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and this program will end at approximately 9:45 a.m.  The registration fee includes a full breakfast buffet and hosted valet parking.

    The reservation deadline for this event is Thursday, May 3.
