Retirement Plan Alternatives for Small Plan Sponsors: CalSavers & PEPs

Thursday, March 17, 2022

8:00 am to 9:45 am

Our Presentation:

The State of California created CalSavers to ensure all Californians can save for their future with the ease of automatic payroll contributions and portability that allows them to keep saving as they move from job to job. State law now requires all businesses with five or more employees to participate in CalSavers if they do not offer a qualified retirement savings plan from the private market. Join us for a CalSavers update and how it addresses the needs of employees of small employers, as well as information on alternatives for small plan sponsors.

PEPs, aka: Pooled Employer Plans, were created by the SECURE Act of 2019. They reduce employer fiduciary obligations and mitigate fiduciary risk, since the Pooled Plan Provider (PPP) assumes role as the plan sponsor and named administrator, and an investment advisor assumes investment option responsibilities as the ERISA 3(38) investment manager. PEPs offer the most comprehensive fiduciary outsourcing available through ERISA.  Come join us to learn about PEPs, and when they may be a good fit for plan sponsors.
