Please join us for an informative discussion on how to effectively communicate with employees regarding their retirement and health and welfare benefits, including the use of various electronic (e.g., e-mail) and web-based delivery means to drive important participant behaviors. This session will also summarize year-end compliance deadlines for various required communications (e.g., ADP/ACP safe harbor notification) and IRS and DOL rules regarding electronic disclosure for purposes of satisfying the plan sponsor's ERISA, Title I disclosure obligations.
Our speakers:
Elizabeth Williams is a Principal in the Los Angeles office of Buck Consultants and leads their communication group. She has worked with leading employers across the nation and has received local, regional and international recognition including six Gold Quills from the International Association of Business Communicators. Elizabeth specializes in aligning employee communications to business strategies with a creative approach that improves understanding and buy-in.
Alison Fay is a Partner in the law firm of Boutwell Fay LLP in Irvine, California. She represents employers in all aspects of employee benefit matters. She has extensive experience with fiduciary responsibilities under ERISA and with tax-qualified retirement plans including 401(k) plans. Alison also provides counsel with respect to non-qualified deferred compensation plans, 409A issues, health and welfare plans including Affordable Care Act compliance, and cafeteria plans, COBRA and HIPAA.
